Polkadot Hub (previously referred to as “Polkadot Plaza” in some contexts) is the system parachain that serves as the main entry point for users on Polkadot. It bundles critical ecosystem functions into a single chain that every account can reach without bridges or token transfers.

The Hub hosts smart contracts through a dual-VM architecture: the REVM (compatible with Ethereum/Solidity) and PolkaVM (native Polkadot execution). It also handles staking, OpenGov governance, Asset Hub for token management, and the People Chain for identity. For most users, Polkadot Hub is where their day-to-day interaction with the network begins.
